Absolute Corruption
As media lines up with what have become boring, cliché stories about how crazy Trump will be in office, we are already beginning to find out why media’s Democratic teammates have been so desperate to hold on to power. They need that power to continue to cover up how deeply they have corrupted the federal government. Rumors of FEMA failure in the weeks since Helene and Milton have been filtering out, particularly from the mountains of East Tennessee and western North Carolina, since Helene cut through here. That area is so isolated, a condition further aggravated by Helene, that reportable fact has been hard to put one’s finger on. When I could get fact, I have reported it.
Well, facts are now readily available – and again, as we have seen so vividly in the under reporting of the pogroms in Amsterdam, in lying before the election and in denial of the election results – media is failing us. Legacy media is treating this story of absolute corruption in FEMA very lightly, you have to turn to alternative media outlets to get the whole story.
Here is the big news, as Daily Wire broke it late Friday:
FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced Saturday that supervisor Marn’i Washington had been fired after she ordered federal employees under her supervision to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, according to messages shared with The Daily Wire by whistleblowers. These instructions were given both verbally and in writing, multiple government employees revealed.
Now, FEMA is desperately trying to make this story about one rogue employee that has been fired. But I don’t buy it. How did such an employee get hired? How did they hold their job? There are strict civil service rules against just such things. The entire system had to fail, or be corrupt, for things to get this far.
On Saturday, Mediaite carried a Fox clip of a private relief worker in western North Carolina telling the story of low-level FEMA people helping him but saying as they did, “We cannot have our fingerprints on this.” Meaning, of course, that the higher ups had also ordered them not to do much in the heart of MAGA country. What more evidence do you need of an agency utterly corrupt? It’s Congressional investigation time.
On Thursday we looked at the herculean task in front of the new administration to bring the Administrative State to heel. But when I wrote that we were talking about the sort of “normal ” temptation to power that infects all those that exercise it. This; however, is a very different sort of thing. Here is clear indication that federal agencies were operated in a purely political fashion – that government assistance was doled out based on political affiliation. This is government corruption of the very worst sort.
As awful as that corruption is, I want you to consider the human side of this story. Very real people were denied, or at least delayed in receiving, assistance – in an effort, obviously, to affect the vote after losing their homes to a storm. People’s suffering was exacerbated for the sake of winning an election! It’s not just corrupt – it’s cruel and inhumane. I have written many times about how operating out of hate corrupts not just the government, but the soul. Well, here it is in black-and-white. So desperate were these people to beat Trump that they prolonged human suffering to do so.
And I don’t know what’s worse – the corruption in the government or media’s efforts to hide it. This is the sort of thing that media ought to be chomping at the bit to uncover and tell, but NO, they are complicit.
The other day I wrote that reform of the Administrative State ought to be Job #1 on the Trump administration’s domestic agenda. I don’t know how to move it farther up the priority ladder from that, but I do know the urgency has, with this story, risen exponentially.
